Scope and accuracy. Accuracy is stated for every job and depends on the method, site conditions and correction source. Our work supports mapping, inventory, documentation and monitoring. It is not a boundary, title or other legal survey, and where one is required we work alongside a licensed land surveyor.

Digital twin foundations

The spatial data a digital twin is built on.

A digital twin is only as useful as the data behind it. We capture and structure the spatial layers so they can be kept current and compared over time. The twin platform itself is chosen with you.

  • Reality layer

    RTK-controlled point clouds and textured models from LiDAR and photogrammetry, georeferenced so they line up with your GIS and design data.

  • Visual layer

    360 imagery captured at fixed stations, so each visit can be revisited and compared by date.

  • Asset layer

    GIS features with IDs, photos and condition, such as hydrants, streetlights, signs and trees, linked to the model.

  • Change layer

    Repeat captures compared against the last one, so new, moved or removed elements stand out.

In the field

Capture

We log the job before we start: project, method, equipment, coordinate system. Control is checked against known points, and files are copied to more than one place before a memory card is cleared.

In the office

Process

Raw data is stored untouched and every file is verified against a checksum. Processing happens on working copies, so the original capture can always be traced.

Deliver

Checked outputs arrive through a secure link with a named, versioned structure, ready to drop into your document system, GIS or design workflow.

Built on ISO 19650 information management principles, so your data is easy to find, trace and reuse.

From capture to handover. Because every dataset is structured the same way, it moves cleanly into whatever your project needs next: an asset register, a change record, or a handover package.

Data security

Your project data, handled with care.

Site data is only useful if it is accurate, traceable and still there when you need it.

  • Three copies, two kinds of storage, one off-site

    Data lives on mirrored storage in our office, is copied nightly to encrypted off-site storage, and is backed up offline on a regular cycle. One copy is protected from alteration or deletion.

  • Encrypted and access-controlled

    Laptops, portable drives and backups are encrypted. Access is limited to the people on your project and protected with multi-factor authentication.

  • Verified, not assumed

    Files are checked when copied, and each quarter we restore real files from backup to prove recovery works.

  • Clear retention and return

    We agree retention with you. On request we return your data, securely delete it, and confirm in writing.

  • Secure delivery

    Files go out through expiring, password-protected links, not email attachments.

Standards. Our procedures are aligned with ISO 19650 information management principles and informed by the control themes of ISO/IEC 27001. Optimum Vista is not currently certified to ISO/IEC 27001. Our data storage and backup manual is available on request under confidentiality.
